Skitch Alternative for Mac
Skitch is not a live product. Evernote discontinued it for Windows, iOS and Android in January 2016 and finally for Mac in December 2021, and the last meaningful release was version 2.9 in July 2020. The honest verdict on Skitch
Skitch's problem is abandonment, not price — it was free and is now unmaintained. Shottr is the honest recommendation if you want a like-for-like annotation tool; Notchy is relevant only for OCR and staging files.

Is Skitch discontinued?

Does Notchy annotate screenshots?
No. Notchy is not a screenshot annotator and doesn't replace Skitch's arrows and callouts — use Shottr or CleanShot X for that. Notchy covers OCR and staging captures.
Is it safe to keep using Skitch?
It isn't malicious, but an unmaintained app that takes screen-capture permissions gets riskier with every macOS release, and it will never be patched again. Moving to something maintained is the sensible call.
