About Notchy

Welcome to Notchy. We are an independent team of Mac enthusiasts and developers dedicated to pushing the boundaries of macOS customization and utility.

Our Mission

When Apple introduced the notch to the MacBook lineup, it was met with mixed reactions. While it provided more screen real estate, the space itself was dead and unutilized. Our mission with Notchy was simple: turn that dead space into the most useful part of your Mac.

We believe that desktop utilities should be light, native, and deeply integrated into the operating system. We built Notchy not just as a visual gimmick, but as a genuine productivity multiplier—integrating clipboard history, AI usage tracking, media controls, and system monitoring directly into the notch.

Why Free?

Unlike many alternatives that charge subscriptions or high upfront fees, we decided to make the core Notchy experience completely free. We believe every Mac user should be able to experience a Dynamic Island without paywalls. We are entirely supported by optional donations from our wonderful community of users.

Our Values

• Privacy First: We do not track you. There is no telemetry, no accounts, and no data harvesting. What happens on your Mac stays on your Mac.
• Performance: A background utility should never slow down your primary work. We rigorously optimize CPU and memory footprint.
• Native Feel: We obsess over Apple's Human Interface Guidelines. Notchy should feel like it was built by Apple.
