Questions about buying
How does the free trial work?
Every feature is free for 7 days, with no card and no sign-up. The trial starts the first time you open Notchy after it became a paid app, so if you used Notchy before, you still get the full trial. Buy a license any time to keep using it after the trial.
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay $24.99 once and the license is yours for good, with updates included.
Are taxes included?
No. Notchy is $24.99 in the US, €24.99 in the euro area and £24.99 in the UK, before tax. Checkout adds whatever applies where you live, such as VAT in the EU and UK, GST, or US sales tax, and shows the final amount in your currency before you pay.
Who handles the payment?
Dodo Payments, the merchant of record for Notchy. You pay on Dodo's secure checkout; your card details never reach notchy.dev. Your card statement shows the charge as DODOPAY_NOTCHY.
How do I activate my license?
After checkout, the thank-you page opens Notchy with your key filled in, so activating is one click. Your key is also emailed to you; you can paste it into the License Key field in Notchy on your Mac.
I lost my license key. How do I get it back?
Search your email for “Your Notchy license key” from Dodo Payments, including spam. If it isn't there, email support@notchy.dev from your purchase email and we'll send it again. Lost your license key?
Can I use Notchy on more than one Mac?
A license activates Notchy on one Mac. Each additional Mac needs its own license.
I'm moving to a new Mac. What happens to my license?
Move it yourself: on the new Mac, enter your license key in Notchy and choose Move to This Mac. Your old Mac stops using the license within a few hours of use if it is online, or once it next connects. You can move a license up to 3 times in 30 days; for more, email support@notchy.dev. Selling or wiping a Mac? Choose Deactivate This Mac in Settings › License first.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Within 14 days of purchase, for any reason: email support@notchy.dev from your purchase email. That's quicker than disputing the charge with your bank, where it shows as DODOPAY_NOTCHY. The refund goes back to your original payment method through Dodo Payments, usually within 5 to 10 business days, and the license key stops working. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
I supported Notchy on Ko-fi or Buy Me a Coffee. Do I have to pay?
No, if you supported Notchy on Ko-fi or Buy Me a Coffee before it became a paid app: you get a free lifetime license by email. If yours hasn't arrived, write to support@notchy.dev from the address you supported with. Tips sent since then are a thank-you and don't include a license.
