Textream or Notchy under your camera

Textream is an open-source teleprompter with three ways to follow you: Word Tracking highlights each word as you say it, Classic scrolls at a set pace, and Voice-Activated scrolls only while you speak. It can pin a Dynamic Island–shaped overlay to the notch, float a window or go fullscreen on any display, offers the OpenDyslexic font, and has an iPhone and iPad companion. It needs macOS 15. Notchy scrolls your script under the camera from macOS 13, as one tool in a full notch app.

Why use Notchy instead of Textream?

  • macOS 13 and 14 too

Textream requires macOS 15 Sequoia. Notchy's teleprompter runs on Ventura and Sonoma, Intel and Apple silicon.

  • Part of the island you already use

The same notch handles music, clipboard history, a camera mirror and meeting countdowns, so your setup before a call lives in one app.

  • Works without a notch

On a Mac mini, iMac or external display Notchy shows the script in a floating island under the top edge.

  • Where Textream wins

It follows your voice — word-by-word tracking and voice-activated scrolling — which Notchy does not do. It also has fullscreen mode, a dyslexia-friendly font and an iPhone companion, and it is MIT open source.
