Activity

Mac desktop widgets — FAQ
How do I add Notchy's widgets to my Mac desktop?
Right-click any empty spot on the desktop and choose Edit Widgets (or click the date in the menu bar to open Notification Center, then Edit Widgets). Find Notchy in the list and drag the AI Usage, Activity or Timer widget where you want it — the same flow as Apple's own widgets.
Do the widgets update when Notchy's panel is closed?
Yes. The app refreshes them in the background, so an AI Usage total or a running Timer stays current whether or not the notch is open. You don't have to keep a window in front of you for the numbers to be real.
Which widgets are there?
AI Usage — your spend and remaining quota across Claude, Codex, Copilot, Cursor and the rest. Activity — Apple Watch-style rings for the day. Timer — whatever countdown or Pomodoro you have running. All three also live in the notch itself.
Which macOS versions support them?
Desktop widgets need macOS 14 Sonoma or newer, because that's when Apple brought widgets to the desktop. On macOS 13 Ventura the same widgets still work in Notification Center, and everything else in Notchy runs as normal.
Do I need to write any code?
None. That's the difference from Übersicht and GeekTool, where every readout is a script you author and maintain. These are native WidgetKit widgets that ship finished.
