Notchy puts weather, music, clocks, your calendar and batteries on the wallpaper, on any Mac it runs on, and adds AI Usage, Activity and Timer to Apple's widget gallery. Click the music widget's cover and the song fills the screen.
AI Usage
Spend and remaining quota across Claude, Codex, Copilot, Cursor and more — the same figures the AI usage tracker shows in the notch, sized for a glance across the room.
Activity
Apple Watch-style rings, rebuilt to Apple's own proportions — staggered sweep-in, a pop when a ring closes, and a true wrap past 100%.
Timer
Whatever countdown or Pomodoro you started in the notch, mirrored where you can see it without opening anything.
Pinned to the wallpaper
Turn them on in Settings › Home › Desktop Widgets, drag them where you want them, and right-click one to change its size. They sit under your windows, like Apple's, and work on macOS 13 Ventura too.
Weather
The temperature over a sky that matches it, the next hours with sunrise and sunset slotted in, the week with a temperature bar per day, and the details: feels like, rain, wind, humidity, UV and air quality. A separate Sunrise & Sunset widget draws the sun's arc across your day.
Now Playing
Artwork, a scrubber, the controls and an AirPlay button to choose where the sound plays. The Extra Large size scrolls the song's synced lyrics beside the player. Click the cover and it fills the screen.
Full-screen player
The album cover centred over a gradient sampled from its own colours, with synced lyrics a click away. Tap a line to jump to it. Esc closes it; Space plays and pauses.
Clocks, calendar, batteries
The time, your World Clock cities, what's left on today's calendar, your iPhone, AirPods and Mac batteries, CPU and memory, and up to six photo widgets that each show a picture or rotate through a folder.
Five sizes
Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, as on macOS, plus Tall for a forecast, an agenda or a portrait photo. Every size lines up on the same grid.
Glass or solid
Frosted glass over your wallpaper, or solid. Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast are respected, and nothing ticks while a widget is covered.

Mac desktop widgets — FAQ
How do I add Notchy’s widgets to my Mac desktop?
Right-click any empty spot on the desktop and choose Edit Widgets (or click the date in the menu bar to open Notification Center, then Edit Widgets). Find Notchy in the list and drag the AI Usage, Activity or Timer widget where you want it — the same flow as Apple’s own widgets.
Do the widgets update when Notchy’s panel is closed?
Yes. The app refreshes them in the background, so an AI Usage total or a running Timer stays current whether or not the notch is open. You don’t have to keep a window in front of you for the numbers to be real.
Which widgets are there?
Two kinds. In Apple’s widget gallery: AI Usage, Activity and Timer. Pinned to the wallpaper from Settings › Home › Desktop Widgets: Clock, World Clock, Now Playing, Weather, Sunrise & Sunset, Calendar, Batteries, System and Photo, in Small, Medium, Tall, Large and Extra Large where the widget has more to show.
Can the music widget go full screen?
Yes. Click the album cover on the Now Playing widget and the song takes the whole display: the cover over a gradient drawn from its own colours, the controls, and synced lyrics a click away. Press Esc, or switch to another app, to close it. Space plays and pauses, the arrow keys skip.
Which macOS versions support them?
The wallpaper widgets (Weather, Now Playing, Clock and the rest) work on every Mac Notchy runs on, macOS 13 Ventura included, since Notchy draws them itself. The AI Usage, Activity and Timer widgets use Apple’s WidgetKit: on the desktop from macOS 14 Sonoma, in Notification Center on Ventura.
Do I need to write any code?
None. That’s the difference from Übersicht and GeekTool, where every readout is a script you author and maintain. These are native WidgetKit widgets that ship finished.
