How to check mouse and keyboard battery on Mac
macOS shows the charge of a Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard or Magic Trackpad, but only when you open a menu. Notchy keeps every level in the notch, next to your AirPods.
Check it without an app
- Click Control Center in the menu bar, then Bluetooth. Each connected accessory lists its charge. If you have the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar, clicking it shows the same list.
- Or open System Settings › Bluetooth and look under My Devices.

How do I check my Magic Mouse battery on a Mac?

Does it show AirPods battery too?
Yes. Peripheral battery sits alongside Notchy’s AirPods battery display, so a single glance at the notch shows the charge of every wireless device on your desk.
Does it warn me when a device runs low?
Yes. When a Magic Mouse, Keyboard or Trackpad drops to 10% (you can pick a different level), Notchy shows a small low-battery island once. It won’t show again for that device until it has charged 10 points above that level.
Will it drain my battery?
Notchy reads device levels on a slow timer, because a mouse battery changes over days, not seconds. It is a periodic read, not a constant poll.
