How do I move or resize a window by dragging anywhere inside it?
Turn on “Move Windows with Modifier Keys” in Settings → Windows & Spaces → Move & Resize. Hold the move keys (⌃⌘ by default) and drag anywhere in a window to move it. Right-drag, or hold the resize keys (⌃⌥⌘ by default), to resize from the nearest corner.
Step by step
- Open Settings → Windows & Spaces and find Move & Resize.
- Switch on “Move Windows with Modifier Keys”. It uses the Accessibility permission.
- Pick other combinations under “Move Keys” and “Resize Keys” if the defaults clash with your shortcuts.
- Set “Start Moving” to When You Move the Pointer to move a window just by holding the keys, without clicking.
Good to know
Every key choice uses at least two modifiers, so ordinary typing never starts a move.
Full-screen windows, the desktop and Notchy's own windows stay put.
