What does Notchy send over the internet?

Very little. Once a day Notchy sends a pseudonymous ping — a random install ID, app and macOS version, your Region setting and update status — so the developer can count active installs. Crash reports are sent only with your consent. Everything else runs on your Mac.

Good to know

The daily ping can't be switched off. Alongside it, Notchy reports update-check results and whether you tapped a support prompt. None of it carries your name, email, hardware identifiers or anything you do in the app.

Some features talk to the service they're built on, and only when on: lyrics (track and artist to LRCLIB), weather (Open-Meteo), stocks (Yahoo Finance), calendars you connect, AI providers you add keys for, and Ask AI (Anthropic, with your key).

Clipboard, Face Unlock, dictation, OCR and the Shelf never leave your Mac. Full details are in the privacy policy.
