Which permissions does Notchy need, and why?
Only Accessibility is required — it powers the pill's controls, window snapping, call and message banners and Face Unlock typing. Everything else is asked for only when you turn on the feature that needs it, and you can review all of them in Settings → Permissions.
Good to know
Camera — the mirror tab and Face Unlock. Bluetooth — AirPods detection and battery when the case opens. Calendar and Reminders — your agenda and the Reminders tab. Location — local weather (or type a city instead). Contacts — caller photos on incoming FaceTime calls.
Microphone and Speech Recognition — dictation, song identification and the Cuely teleprompter's “Follow My Voice”. Audio is never saved, and speech is recognized on your Mac.
Opt-in extras: Full Disk Access (older Notification Center history and your Focus mode list), Input Monitoring (trackpad Knock and media-key takeover), Screen Recording (screenshots, recordings and window titles), Files & Folders (Screenshot to Shelf). Automation lets Notchy talk to Music, Spotify, Messages, Notes and System Events for the features that use them.
Settings → Permissions → “Permission Guide” walks through setup one step at a time.
