I granted a permission but the Notchy feature still doesn't work. Why?

Usually macOS has the permission recorded for a different copy of Notchy — one run from the disk image or Downloads, or a duplicate. Keep one copy in Applications, then open Settings → Permissions → “Still not working?” → “Reset & Relaunch” for that permission.

Step by step

  1. Quit Notchy and make sure only one Notchy.app exists, in /Applications. Notchy warns with “Other Copies of Notchy Are Installed” if it finds others.
  2. Open Notchy from Applications.
  3. Settings → Permissions → expand “Still not working?” on the affected row → “Reset & Relaunch”. macOS forgets the old answer for Notchy only and asks again.
  4. Grant it when asked. If the feature still doesn't react, right-click the pill → “Restart Notchy”.

Good to know

Screen Recording is special: macOS asks only once, and granting it later in System Settings quits Notchy — it reopens on its own.

For a bug report, “Copy Permission Diagnostics” on the same page copies system info and every permission's state.
