A low warning you set yourself
Pick the percentage that leaves you enough runway, with an optional sound. macOS's own warning arrives when the decision is already made for you.
The cue to unplug
Set your full-charge level — 80% if you're looking after cycle count — and a pill appears the moment it's reached. Plugging in gets its own brief charging island.
Accessories included
Mouse, keyboard, trackpad and AirPods get a warning under 10%, and their live levels sit on the notch before it gets that far.

Battery alerts — FAQ
Can I choose the percentage that triggers the low battery warning?
Yes. The low-battery threshold is yours to set, so the island lands where it's still useful to you rather than at whatever macOS decided. There's an optional alert sound with it.
Can it tell me when to unplug?
That's the Full Charge Island. Set the level you treat as full — 80% if you're managing charge cycles, 100% if you top up — and a pill appears when the battery reaches it.
Does it warn me about my mouse and keyboard too?
Yes. Accessories Low Battery covers connected peripherals — mouse, keyboard, trackpad, AirPods — and warns when one drops below 10%. The current level of each is on the notch as well.
Does this change how my Mac charges?
No. Notchy reports what the battery is doing; it never manages charging. macOS keeps full control of optimized charging and charge limits.
What's the difference between this and battery health?
These are the interruptions — the moments you want to be told about. Cycle count, maximum capacity and the rest of the diagnostics live on the battery health page.
