Micro-App Feature
Download done — right in the notch
A clean island the moment a file lands in Downloads, with one-tap Reveal in Finder — like an iPhone Live Activity, in your MacBook notch. Notchy works across every browser, no extension. Free.
Stop babysitting the download tray
Instead of flicking back to the browser to see if it's done, keep working. The moment the file is actually complete and usable, the notch tells you — with a Reveal button that drops you right on it in Finder.
Every browser, no extension
Notchy watches your Downloads folder, not a single app — so Safari, Chrome, Arc, Firefox and Edge all light up the same notch alert. Nothing to install in the browser.
The Dynamic Island feel
It's the iPhone Live Activity experience brought to macOS: a glanceable, animated alert in the notch for something that just happened in the background.
Smart and quiet
Notchy recognizes browser temp files and waits for the download to settle, so it never fires on half-written files and never fires twice — present when useful, invisible the rest of the time.

Mac Download Notifications — FAQ
How does Notchy know a download finished?
Notchy watches your Downloads folder at the file-system level. It ignores in-flight browser temp files (.crdownload, .download, .part) and waits for the file to settle — so it fires exactly once, the moment the file is actually usable, then shows a 'Download finished' island with a Reveal action.
Which browsers does it work with?
All of them. Because Notchy watches the Downloads folder rather than hooking a specific browser, it works with Safari, Chrome, Arc, Firefox, Edge and anything else that saves to ~/Downloads. No extension needed.
Can I open the downloaded file from the notch?
Yes — the island includes a one-tap Reveal action that opens Finder with the new file selected, so you can drag it where it needs to go immediately.
Is it like an iPhone Live Activity?
Exactly. It brings that Dynamic Island feel to your Mac — a glanceable, animated alert in the notch when something lands, so you don't have to keep checking the browser's download tray.
