Uninstall Guide
How to Uninstall Boring Notch
Is Boring Notch lagging your MacBook, causing memory leaks, or running sluggishly? Here is how to completely wipe the app and its cache from your Mac in under two minutes.
Step-by-step removal
Before uninstalling, you must stop the app from running. Click the Boring Notch icon in your menu bar and select 'Quit Boring Notch'. If it is unresponsive, open Activity Monitor, search for 'Boring Notch', and click Force Quit.
Open Finder and navigate to the 'Applications' folder. Locate 'Boring Notch.app', drag it to the Trash, and empty the Trash.
Boring Notch leaves behind configuration and cache files. Open Finder, press Cmd+Shift+G, and paste `~/Library/Application Support/Boring Notch`. Delete that folder to clean your system.
Go to System Settings → General → Login Items. Ensure Boring Notch is removed from the list so macOS doesn't search for it every time you boot.
Stop letting a laggy, basic app clutter your notch.
Boring Notch is open-source but lacks fluid transitions, micro-animations, or high-productivity integrations like an integrated Pomodoro timer or clipboard manager. Users report frequent delays and high RAM footprints.
Notchy is built purely in native, highly optimized SwiftUI. It consumes roughly ~0.1% CPU and near-zero memory, providing butter-smooth iOS-style transitions.
And just like Boring Notch, Notchy is 100% Free. No paywalls, no strings attached.
