Micro-App Feature
Synced lyrics live in your notch
Watch the current line of your song scroll right under the notch, perfectly timed to the music. Notchy works with Apple Music, Spotify and any Now Playing source on macOS — free, no sign-in.
Timed to the beat
These aren't static lyrics in a window — Notchy advances each line to match the playback position, so the words under the notch are exactly what's playing right now.
Any player, one place
Apple Music, Spotify, a YouTube tab — if macOS reports it as Now Playing, Notchy follows along. Switch apps and the lyrics follow your music automatically.
Out of the way until you want it
Lyrics live in the notch instead of hogging a floating window. They only appear when synced words exist, and the ticker only runs while something's on screen — so it costs nothing the rest of the time.
Free and keyless
Powered by the free, community-run LRCLIB database. No subscription, no API key, no account — just press play and the words show up.

Mac Lyrics — FAQ
Does this show synced lyrics for Apple Music and Spotify?
Yes. Notchy reads whatever your Mac reports as Now Playing — Apple Music, Spotify, browser players and more — then fetches time-synced lyrics and scrolls the current line under the notch as the song plays.
Where do the lyrics come from?
Notchy pulls time-synced lyrics from LRCLIB, a free, community-run, keyless lyrics database. There's no account to make and no API key to paste — it just works.
What if a song has no lyrics?
If LRCLIB has no synced lyrics for the track, Notchy stays silent and simply shows the regular Now Playing pill. No empty box, no error — it only appears when there's something to show.
Is the Mac lyrics feature free?
Yes. Synced lyrics are part of Notchy's free notch app, alongside Now Playing controls, the clipboard manager, drop shelf and the rest of the feature set.
