A clock on the notch itself

On a monitor with no notch, the resting pill is a black bar doing nothing. Notchy can put the time and date there — and keep a world clock of every zone your team works in one tab away.

Time and date on the resting pill

Centred where the notch would be, in Notchy's own type. Off by default — on a MacBook the menu bar already has a clock, so this is for the screens that do not.

A world clock that stays put

Add the zones you actually care about, in the order you want to read them. No converting in your head before you send the invite.

On monitors with no notch

Notchy draws a full island on external displays and on Macs with no notch at all, including a Mac mini or Studio.

When something is happening

The clock steps aside for whatever is live — a timer, a track, a download — and comes back when the notch goes quiet. Your next meeting is a tab away.

A clock in the notch — FAQ

Can I put a clock in the MacBook notch?

Yes. Notchy can show the time and date on the resting pill. It matters most on a display with no hardware notch, where the pill would otherwise be an empty black bar sitting over your wallpaper — the clock gives that space a job.

Is it on by default?

No. The pill clock is a switch you turn on, because on a real notch the menu-bar clock is already a couple of centimetres away and a second one is noise.

Does it work on an external monitor?

Yes, and that is the case it was built for. Notchy draws its island on displays that have no notch at all, so the clock rides along on any monitor you attach.

Can I see other time zones?

Yes — the World Clock card holds as many zones as you want, in the order you put them, so a distributed team's working hours are one glance rather than mental arithmetic.

What else is on the pill while it rests?

A ring cluster you can enable for an at-a-glance status, and whatever activity is live — a timer counting down, a track playing, a download finishing. The clock is what shows when nothing else is happening.

Is it free?

Yes. Notchy is free with no trial, licence key or subscription.
