Mac Menu Bar Calendar — FAQ
Can I see my next meeting in the Mac menu bar?
Yes, since Notchy 1.0.200. Turn on Next Meeting in Menu Bar in Settings → Calendar and the menu bar reads “Standup in 12m”, or “12m left” while a meeting runs. Click it to open the Calendar tab. You can hide the event title for a shorter label. It starts off.
Is there a keyboard shortcut to open the calendar?
Yes — Calendar Shortcut (1.0.200) opens Notchy's calendar from any app with a keyboard shortcut you choose in Settings → Calendar.
Can I add or edit calendar events from the menu bar?
Since 1.0.201, Manage Calendar Events previews quick event dates and saves them to a writable Apple calendar, and lets you edit or delete your own single events. Shared and recurring events still open in Calendar. Calendar with Due Tasks can also list due reminders beside the day's events.
What is the best menu bar calendar for Mac?
Notchy, if you would rather not spend a menu bar slot on it. It reads your calendars through EventKit and drops the next event and a full month view out of the notch, so the menu bar stays empty. Dedicated menu bar apps put an icon up there permanently.
Does macOS have a built-in menu bar calendar?

Which calendar accounts does Notchy support?
Every calendar in the macOS Calendar app through EventKit — iCloud, plus Google and Microsoft 365 or Exchange once the account is added in System Settings → Internet Accounts with Calendars on. Does Notchy send my calendar data to the cloud?
No. Events are shown locally on your screen. Notchy reads your Mac calendars through EventKit, and fetches any .ics link or CalDAV account you add straight from that server — never through a Notchy server. Calendar-link secrets and CalDAV passwords stay in your Mac's Keychain.
