Desktops with names
macOS gives you Spaces and then refuses to tell you which one you are on. Notchy puts every desktop on a card in the notch, lets you name each one, and switches with a click, a swipe or a shortcut.
Every Space on one card
Open the notch and the Home card shows the desktops on the display you are using, in Mission Control order, with the current one marked. No four-finger swipe just to find out where you are.
Call them what they are
Rename Desktop 3 to Writing and it stays Writing — through app switches, through reboots. Names are keyed to the Space itself, not to its position.

Pick a Space on the card, swipe across the pill, or use a hotkey. Underneath it posts macOS's own Mission Control shortcuts, so the animation and behaviour are the system's, not an imitation.

Spaces — FAQ
Can I name my Spaces on macOS?
macOS itself only calls them Desktop 1, Desktop 2 and so on. Notchy lets you give each Space your own name — Writing, Mail, Client work — and shows that name instead, on the card and on the notch.
Do my names survive a reboot?
Yes. Names are stored against the Space's WindowServer UUID, which outlives restarts, so a renamed desktop keeps its name. A desktop with no UUID on your macOS version falls back to its number.
How do I switch Spaces from the notch?
Click a Space on the Home card, swipe across the notch, or use the Notchy shortcut. Switching drives macOS's own Mission Control shortcuts, so it behaves exactly like pressing them yourself.
Why does switching do nothing on my Mac?
Notchy posts the system's Mission Control shortcuts, so they have to exist. If "Move left/right a space" and the Ctrl-1…9 desktop shortcuts are disabled in System Settings → Keyboard → Shortcuts → Mission Control, turn them back on.
Does it work with more than one display?
Yes. Notchy reads every display's Spaces and shows the ones on the display your cursor is on, which is the display macOS will switch.
Does it show full-screen apps?
It knows about them and labels them as Full Screen, while numbering only your real desktops — the same numbers Mission Control binds to Ctrl-1 through Ctrl-9.
