A Mac Stock Ticker That Lives in the Notch
Your watchlist, the day's shape, and the price you were waiting for — in the one place you are already looking. Notchy keeps the market in the notch instead of in a browser tab you forget to check.
A glance, not a dashboard
A price alone tells you where a stock is. Every row draws the day's intraday line beside it, with the previous close marked underneath — so the chart says which side of flat you are on, not just the colour. The dot on the end is where the price is right now.
Tell it the number, not the notification
Alerts read as a sentence: tell Notchy when a symbol rises above or falls below a price you type. It watches the crossing and raises an island on the notch when it happens — no polling a tab, no push notification from an app you had to sign into.
Honest about the market
Pre-market, open, after hours and closed are all labelled. Outside trading the rows go neutral rather than glowing green — a price that cannot move should not look live. Direction is never carried by colour alone either: an arrow says it too, so the watchlist reads the same if you are colour blind.
On the pill, or in a full tab
Pin the symbols you care about and they rotate through a compact ticker on the collapsed pill. Hover it for the price. Open the Stocks tab for the whole watchlist — company names, the day's move, and a chart with room to read.

Mac Stock Ticker — FAQ
How do I get a stock ticker on my Mac?
Install Notchy, open Settings › Stocks, and search for the companies you want to follow. They appear as a watchlist card in the notch, and any symbol you pin also rotates through a compact ticker on the collapsed pill — so prices are visible without opening anything.
Can I get an alert when a stock hits a certain price?
Yes. Each stock in your watchlist can carry alerts, set as a sentence: tell Notchy when a symbol rises above or falls below a price you type. The alert arrives as an island on the notch when the price actually crosses that line.
Does it show pre-market and after-hours prices?
Yes, and it labels which session you are looking at — pre-market, open, after hours, or closed. Outside trading hours the row deliberately goes neutral rather than staying green or red, because a price that cannot move should not look live.
Is the stock ticker free?
Yes. Stocks is part of Notchy, which is free. There is no subscription, no account, and no separate purchase for the watchlist, the charts or the price alerts.
Which stocks and markets are supported?
Search by company name or ticker symbol and add whatever the search returns, including non-US listings, indices and ETFs. Prices are shown in the quote's own currency.
