Maths inside the conversion
The number part goes through the full calculator first, so “(3+2)*2 cm in mm” works, and so do percentages, functions and your last answer.
Temperature done right
Conversions use Apple's Measurement system, which knows Fahrenheit and Celsius are offset scales, not ratios — the one a hand-made table always gets wrong.

How do I convert units on a Mac quickly?
Spotlight can do simple ones. Notchy's calculator, since 1.0.172, converts as you type in the notch — “5 ft in cm”, “2 gb in mb”, “100 kmh to mph” — and keeps each result in its history.
Does it convert currencies?
Yes, using mid-market exchange rates from free public sources. If rates can't be fetched it says so, rather than showing a stale answer.
Why “in” and “to”?
Either works as the separator. Notchy even handles “12 cm in in”, where the second “in” is inches.
Is this a free Soulver alternative?
