Your Codex limits, always in view
Codex tells you you're out of usage at the worst moment. Notchy keeps the number visible instead: the used percentage of your 5-hour and weekly windows, your plan and the exact reset time, on the notch, the menu bar or a desktop widget.
The real numbers, no key
Notchy reads Codex's live gauges through the CLI login you already have — the same used percentage and reset time Codex shows you — and falls back to estimates from Codex's local session logs. No API key, nothing to paste.
Where you're already looking
The collapsed island shows whichever provider is closest to its limit. The AI Usage tab detaches to the menu bar, and an AI Usage desktop widget keeps updating on the desktop or in Notification Center while the panel is closed.
Warned before you're cut off
Pick a threshold — 80% by default — and Notchy raises an alert when Codex crosses it or is on pace to run out before the window resets. AI Session Out & Back tells you when a 5-hour session runs out and again the moment it's back.
Codex approvals in the notch
Turn on Agent Permission Islands and an island appears the moment Codex needs permission or input, with a jump-to-terminal button — or approve and deny right from the notch.

Codex Usage on Mac — FAQ
How do I check my Codex usage on a Mac?
Install Notchy and turn on the AI Usage tab in Settings. It picks up Codex from your CLI login and local logs automatically and shows your used percentage, plan and reset time.
Can I see Codex usage in the menu bar?
Yes. Detach the AI Usage tab to the menu bar, or keep it on the notch, where the collapsed island shows the provider closest to its limit.
Is there a Codex usage widget for macOS?
Yes — Notchy's AI Usage desktop widget sits on the desktop or in Notification Center and keeps updating while Notchy's panel is closed.
Can Notchy tell me when my Codex limit resets?
Yes, since 1.0.197. AI Limit Resets notifies you when a session or weekly limit you used resets. It's off until you switch it on in Settings → AI Usage.
Does it send my Codex data anywhere?
No. Notchy reads local logs and your existing CLI login on your Mac; nothing is uploaded.
Does it track Claude Code too?
Yes — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot and Antigravity from local logs, plus 60+ providers if you add an account.
