A Cursor Highlighter and Pointer Themes
On a screen share, the pointer is the thing everyone is trying to follow and the thing nobody can find. Notchy's Pointer settings make every click visible, light up the area you're talking about, and let you give the Mac pointer a colour of its own.
Click ripples and a halo
A ring spreads from every click — a double ring for right clicks — and an optional halo follows the pointer and squeezes when you press. They show up in Zoom, QuickTime and OBS like anything else on screen.
Hold ⌃⌥ for a spotlight
Hold Control and Option and everything dims except a soft circle around the pointer. Let go and it's gone. A short delay means ordinary ⌃⌥ shortcuts never flash it.
Nine pointer themes
Snow, Accent, Amber, Frost, Neon, Candy, Aurora, Sunset and a pixelated Retro repaint Apple's own arrow, I-beam, hands and resize cursors, keeping every hotspot exact. Scale up to 2×.
Trails that stay out of the way
Comet, sparkles, hearts or rainbow. Effects move only on mouse events, and trails pause in Low Power Mode and with Reduce Motion. Everything is off until you turn it on.

Cursor Highlighter for Mac — FAQ
How do I highlight my mouse clicks on a Mac?
macOS has no built-in click highlight. In Notchy 1.0.180, open Settings → Pointer and switch on Click Ripples; add Pointer Halo for a ring that follows the cursor.
How do I change the cursor colour on a Mac?
macOS only lets you change the outline and fill of the arrow (Accessibility → Display → Pointer). Notchy's themes recolour every stock cursor at once — arrow, text I-beam, hands and resize arrows — with gradients and glows.
Does the spotlight need any permissions?
Yes — Accessibility, so Notchy can see you holding ⌃⌥. Ripples, halo and trails need no permission.
Does changing the cursor need SIP disabled?
No. Themes are registered with WindowServer for your login session; no system files change. Quitting Notchy hands Apple's pointer back.
Can I use my own cursor images?
No — Notchy's themes recolour Apple's shapes. For custom art, Mousecape and MaCursor import cursor theme files.
Can it show my keystrokes too?
Yes. Notchy's keystroke HUD shows the shortcuts you press as keycaps in the notch — together with the pointer effects, that's a free presenter kit.
Is it free?
Yes — Notchy has no trial, licence key, subscription or in-app purchase.
