A Mousecape Alternative with no .cape files
Mousecape is the long-standing way to change the Mac cursor: Alex Zielenski's free, open-source manager loads .cape theme files, supports animated cursors, has a built-in editor and re-applies your theme at login through a helper. Its licence is non-commercial. Notchy 1.0.180 uses the same WindowServer mechanism for a simpler job — recolouring Apple's cursors from a picker, no theme files needed.

Is Mousecape free?
Yes. It's open source under a modified BSD licence that limits it to non-commercial use.
Can Notchy import .cape cursor themes?
No. Notchy's themes are built in and recolour Apple's own cursors. For custom art, use Mousecape or MaCursor.
How does Notchy change the cursor without disabling SIP?
The same way Mousecape does: it registers replacement cursor images with WindowServer for your login session. No system files are touched.
Does the theme stay after I quit Notchy?
No — quitting hands Apple's pointer back. The theme comes back when Notchy launches.
Can I make the Mac cursor bigger with Notchy?
Yes, up to 2× for a theme, on top of the pointer size in System Settings → Accessibility → Display.
