Is Muzzle free?
Yes, Muzzle is free. Notchy is free too, so this is not a price comparison — it is about whether you want notification silencing automated or visible.
Does Notchy detect screen sharing automatically?
No, and that is Muzzle's entire point. Muzzle notices when screen sharing starts, turns on Do Not Disturb, and restores your previous state when it ends. Notchy lets you toggle Focus from the notch, but you have to remember to do it.
So why use Notchy for this at all?
Because remembering is easier when the state is visible. Focus status sits on the notch where you are already looking, along with a camera and mic indicator showing whether you are being recorded — so you notice before you say something you shouldn't.
Should I use both?
That is genuinely the best setup. Muzzle handling the automatic Do Not Disturb during screen shares, Notchy showing Focus state, camera and mic status, and everything else. They do not conflict.
What is the camera and mic indicator?
A live indicator on the notch showing when an app is using your camera or microphone — the same idea as the iPhone's green and orange dots, in the place your eye already goes on a Mac.
Does Notchy hide notifications?
It can show notifications in the notch rather than as corner banners, and it toggles macOS Focus, which suppresses them. It does not do Muzzle's automatic screen-share detection.
