Paste as Plain Text in Any App
⌥⇧⌘V works in some apps and does something else in others. Notchy's Paste as Plain Text works everywhere: it pastes only the words — no fonts, colours, sizes or links — and then puts your original clipboard back exactly as it was.
Your clipboard survives
Notchy swaps in a plain-text copy for one paste, then restores the rich original. Copy something new in the meantime and your new copy always wins.
Your shortcut, or ⌘K
Set a global shortcut in Settings, or run “Paste as Plain Text” from the command palette. It waits for your modifier keys to come up so the target app sees a clean ⌘V.
Plays well with other clipboard managers
The temporary copy is marked transient, so Maccy, Raycast, Paste and Notchy's own history don't record it. Passwords stay concealed.
Handles messy copies
Rich copies from Safari, Notes and Mail carry legacy types no app can read; Notchy skips those instead of refusing. Rich-only copies from older apps still get a readable text fallback.

Paste Plain Text on Mac — FAQ
What's the Mac shortcut to paste without formatting?
Many apps use ⌥⇧⌘V (Paste and Match Style), but not all of them, and some map it to something else. Notchy adds one shortcut you choose that pastes plain text in every app.
Does it change what's on my clipboard?
Only for the moment of the paste. The original rich copy is restored straight after.
What permission does it need?
Accessibility, so Notchy can send the ⌘V keystroke to the app you're in. Notchy tells you if the permission is missing.
Can I make every paste plain text?
No — it's on demand, so normal ⌘V keeps its formatting. If you want plain text by default, Pure Paste does that.
Does it remove tracking from links?
That's a separate clipboard feature: Notchy can strip tracking parameters from links as you copy them.
Is it free?
Yes — Notchy has no trial, licence key, subscription or in-app purchase.
