How do I get Claude Code or Codex permission prompts in the notch?
Turn on “Agent Permission Islands” in Settings → AI Usage. An island appears the moment Claude Code or Codex needs permission or input, with a jump-to-terminal button. Add “Approve & Deny from the Notch” to answer right from the island.
Good to know
To do this Notchy merges hooks into ~/.claude/settings.json and ~/.codex/hooks.json, keeping all your other settings, and removes them when you turn the feature off or uninstall Notchy.
Codex asks you once to review and trust the new hooks — that's Codex's own safety step.
If you don't answer an approval within 2 minutes, the agent falls back to its usual prompt in the terminal. If Notchy isn't running, the hook does nothing and never prints an error.
