How do I install or update Notchy with Homebrew?

Run brew install --cask vishvavariya/notchy/notchy. Notchy then keeps itself up to date through its built-in updater, so you don't need brew to update it — though brew upgrade --cask notchy also works.

Step by step

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. Run brew install --cask vishvavariya/notchy/notchy.
  3. Open Notchy from Applications.

Good to know

The cask requires macOS 13 Ventura or later and installs the same signed, notarized build as the website download.

To remove Notchy and everything it stored, run brew uninstall --zap notchy. That leaves the same machine behind as the in-app uninstaller, except that Homebrew can't reset macOS permission records — those are inert once the app is gone, and a reinstall asks again.
