How do I stop lock-screen widgets covering the clock or login controls?

In Settings → Lock Screen, check the widget “Placement” and “Vertical Position”. Use “Card Density” → Compact or “Layout” → Single Strip if the card stack needs less room. These controls move the widget cards, separately from the lock icon and Face Unlock island.

Step by step

  1. Update Notchy, then open Settings → Lock Screen and enable “Lock Screen Widget”.
  2. Choose an available “Placement” and adjust “Vertical Position” within the space clear of the clock and login controls.
  3. For less crowded cards, choose Compact under “Card Density”, or switch “Layout” to “Single Strip”.
  4. Use “Preview Layout”, then check the actual locked screen as well.

Good to know

Placement choices depend on the macOS login layout; “Below Login” is only offered where there is space below the login group.

For clipped content, also check “Card Width”, “Columns” and “Match Card Heights”. If it persists, include those settings, macOS version and a screenshot with personal information hidden in your report.
