Why is Notchy's system volume slider stuck or not changing the sound?

Check the selected output in macOS Sound settings and try changing its volume there. Some outputs have no adjustable system volume and need the speaker or display's own controls. If macOS volume works but Notchy's slider stays stuck, update and restart Notchy, then report the output device and the slider behavior.

Step by step

  1. Open System Settings → Sound → Output and check the selected device.
  2. Try macOS's volume control. If it is unavailable, use that device's own controls or select an output with adjustable volume.
  3. If macOS works but Notchy does not, update and restart Notchy, then try the slider again.

Good to know

Include the device name, connection type, macOS and Notchy versions, whether media keys work, and whether Notchy's slider stays at 0%, stays at 100%, or jumps back after dragging.

The system volume slider controls the default output. For separate app volumes, use the Sound Mixer.
