Why is the Now Playing island too wide or covering my app menus?
In Settings → Now Playing, turn off “Always Show Track Info” and “Lyrics on Pill” if you prefer a smaller music island. Check “Closed Pill Size” in Appearance and “Hide if Menus Overlap” in Behavior. There is no dedicated maximum-width setting for the music island.
Good to know
“Panel Width” changes the expanded panel, not the closed music island. The resting island sizes itself from the content it draws.
Update Notchy before reporting an unusually wide empty bar. Include a screenshot, the track title and artist, your display resolution and scaling, and whether track info or lyrics are enabled.
