Why isn't my music showing in Notchy?

Notchy shows any app that reports to macOS's Now Playing — Apple Music, Spotify, browsers, podcast apps — with no setup. If nothing appears, check that “Now Playing Island” is on in Settings → Now Playing, and remember “Hide When Paused” clears the island about 30 seconds after you pause.

Step by step

  1. Start playback and check macOS itself shows the track (Control Center → Now Playing). If macOS doesn't see it, Notchy can't either.
  2. Settings → Now Playing: make sure “Now Playing Island” is on.
  3. If you're in a full-screen app, Notchy may be hidden — see full-screen hiding.
  4. Right-click the pill → “Restart Notchy”.
  5. Still missing? In Settings → Now Playing, use “Copy Media Health Report” and email it to issues@notchy.dev.

Good to know

Likes, shuffle, repeat and playlists are per-app extras: Apple Music needs nothing, Spotify needs a one-time connection, and YouTube Music needs its desktop app's API Server plugin.
