A To-Do List in the Notch
Some tasks only need to exist for an afternoon — send the invoice, reply to Sam, move the meeting. Notchy's To-Do tab is for those: type, tick, forget. It stays on this Mac, needs no permission, and cleans up after itself. Free.
Nothing to set up
No account, no sync service and no Reminders permission prompt. Open the notch, type a task, press Return.
Ticked items leave on their own
A finished task disappears a day after you tick it, the way a paper list gets thrown away — without a “clear completed” step to remember.
Half a task survives
Close the panel mid-sentence to check the time and your draft is still in the field when you come back.

Mac To-Do List — FAQ
Is there a simple to-do list in the Mac menu bar?
Notchy has one in the notch: the To-Do tab, new in version 1.0.172 and on by default. It's a plain checklist, free, with no account.
Where are my tasks stored?
Locally, in Notchy's own settings on this Mac. Nothing is uploaded and nothing syncs to other devices.
How is this different from the Reminders tab?
Reminders reads and writes Apple Reminders, so it needs permission and syncs through iCloud — right for anything dated or shared. To-Do is for throwaway tasks that shouldn't clutter your real Reminders inbox.
Is there a limit?
200 items. That's a checklist, not a backlog — past that, Reminders, Things or Todoist is the right tool.
Is this a Things or Todoist alternative?
No. Those are task managers with projects, dates and sync. Notchy's To-Do is the scrap of paper beside the keyboard, kept where you can see it.
Is it free?
Yes. Notchy has no trial, licence key, subscription or in-app purchase.
