Productivity Toolkit
A Real Terminal in Your Mac Notch
Your login shell, in a PTY, one tap from the notch. Notchy's Notch Terminal is a full VT100/xterm emulator — colors, cursor keys, and TUI apps all work, free.
A real shell, not a command box
Notchy spawns your actual login shell in a PTY, so it behaves exactly like Terminal.app — full color output, cursor and arrow keys, tab completion, and TUI apps like vim, htop, or tmux run natively.
Keeps running across tabs
The terminal view is created once and reused, so switching to Clipboard or AI Usage never kills your shell. A build, a dev server, an SSH session — it's all still running when you tab back.
Always one tap away
No Cmd-Tab, no window to find in a stack of others. The notch is already visible on every desktop — the terminal is right there, alongside the clipboard manager and AI usage tracker.
Native and free
Built on SwiftTerm, a native AppKit terminal emulator — no Electron, no subscription. It ships as one tab in Notchy's free, 50+ feature toolkit.

Mac Notch Terminal — FAQ
Is Notchy's Notch Terminal a real terminal?
Yes. It spawns your actual login shell (zsh, bash, fish — whatever you use) inside a PTY, so colors, cursor keys, tab completion, and full TUI apps like vim, htop, or tmux all work exactly as they do in Terminal.app or iTerm2. It's not a limited command box.
Does the shell keep running when I switch tabs?
Yes. The terminal view is created once and held in a shared instance, so a long-running command — a build, a dev server, an SSH session — keeps going in the background while you check Clipboard, AI Usage, or any other notch tab, then pick up right where you left off.
Do I need to install a separate terminal app?
No. The Notch Terminal is a tab inside Notchy, one tap or keyboard shortcut away from wherever you're working — no Cmd-Tab, no window to find, no extra app in your Dock.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free with no subscription — like every Notchy feature. It ships alongside a full productivity toolkit: AI usage tracking, window snapping, clipboard manager with OCR, and 50+ other tools.
