A Free Text Expander for Mac
Type your address, standard reply, or code block once — paste it forever. Notchy's snippets are a TextExpander-style expander built into the notch's ⌘K palette, completely free.
Paste at the speed of typing
⌃⌥K, a few letters, return — the snippet lands in whatever app you were typing in, and focus snaps straight back. No windows to manage, no menu bar digging.
No subscription
TextExpander wants a monthly fee for what is, at heart, saved text. Notchy's snippets are free forever — along with a full clipboard manager in the same tab.
Clipboard-history safe
A snippet paste never spams your clipboard history — Notchy suppresses its own pastes, so your recent copies stay exactly where you expect them.
Local and private
Snippets are stored on your Mac, full stop. No account, no cloud sync you didn't ask for, no telemetry.

Mac Text Snippets — FAQ
How do I paste a snippet with Notchy?
Press ⌃⌥K to open Notchy's command palette, type a few letters of the snippet's name, and hit return — the text pastes into the app you were just typing in. Focus returns automatically, so it feels like native autocomplete.
Is Notchy a free TextExpander alternative?
For reusable text blocks — addresses, boilerplate replies, code snippets, canned support answers — yes, and it's completely free. TextExpander is a subscription; Notchy's snippets cost nothing and live in an app you already run.
Do snippet pastes clutter my clipboard history?
No. Snippet pastes are suppressed from Notchy's clipboard history, so your real copies stay where you left them. The two features share machinery but never step on each other.
Where are my snippets stored?
Locally on your Mac. Snippets never touch a server — there's no account, no sync service, no telemetry.
