Uninstall Guide
How to uninstall Atoll
Dragging Atoll to the Trash leaves its preferences, its updater cache and a set of privacy permissions behind. Three minutes clears all of it.
Step-by-step removal
macOS will refuse to delete a running app. Click Atoll's notch or menu bar item and choose Quit. If it doesn't respond, open Activity Monitor, search for Atoll, select the process and press the ⓧ button, then Force Quit.
Open Finder → Applications, drag Atoll.app to the Trash, and empty it. If you installed it by dragging from the DMG, this is the only copy.
Atoll stores its settings under its bundle identifier. In Finder press ⌘⇧G and go to ~/Library/Preferences, then delete com.Ebullioscopic.Atoll.plist if it's there. Nothing else on your Mac reads that file.
Check ~/Library/Caches/com.Ebullioscopic.Atoll and ~/Library/Application Support/Atoll, and delete either if present. Atoll updates itself with Sparkle, which is what leaves the cache behind.
Atoll asks for Accessibility, Screen Recording, Camera, Calendar and Music access. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and remove Atoll from each list it appears in, so macOS stops holding a grant for an app that's gone.
System Settings → General → Login Items. Remove Atoll from 'Open at Login' and from 'Allow in the Background' if it's listed, then restart. Nothing should reappear in the notch.
Leaving because your Mac has no notch?
Atoll is built for the cutout on a 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro and asks for macOS 14. On a Mac mini, a Mac Studio, an older Air or a laptop docked to a big display, there is nothing for it to attach to.
