How to Uninstall Droppy

Whether you want to remove Droppy after testing, prefer local file sharing over cloud uploads, or need an app that runs on macOS 13 Ventura, here is how to completely wipe Droppy from your Mac.

Switching from Droppy?

Droppy is $9.99 upfront with no free trial and relies on Droppy Cloud uploads. Notchy is $24.99 once, keeps your file shelf 100% on your Mac with native AirDrop, runs back to macOS 13 Ventura, and includes a full 7-day free trial with no card required.

Step-by-step removal

1
Quit Droppy

Before deleting files, ensure the application is completely shut down. Click the Droppy menu bar icon and select 'Quit'. If unresponsive, open Activity Monitor, search for 'Droppy', and click the Force Quit icon.

2
Move Droppy.app to Trash

Open Finder, go to your 'Applications' folder, locate 'Droppy.app', and drag it into the Trash. Empty your Trash.

3
Wipe Support & Cache Files

Open Finder, press Cmd+Shift+G, and paste ~/Library/Application Support. Delete the 'Droppy' folder. Then check ~/Library/Preferences for any plist files matching com.droppy* and delete them to wipe your stored configuration.

4
Remove from Login Items

Go to System Settings → General → Login Items. Under 'Open at Login', locate Droppy if it is still listed and click the minus (-) button so it never runs at boot.

Local-first shelf, no cloud dependency.

Notchy gives you a permanent drag-and-drop shelf, clipboard history with OCR search, and window snapping directly on your notch or floating island. Unlike cloud-based file tools, nothing leaves your Mac unless you explicitly send it via AirDrop.

Plus, Notchy adds Face Unlock for Mac, AI usage tracking across 35+ providers, and 50+ built-in utilities in native SwiftUI with near-zero idle CPU.

Try every feature free for 7 days — no credit card needed.

Droppy — FAQ

Is Droppy free?

No. Droppy costs $9.99 as a one-time purchase. It does not offer a free trial, which is why many Mac owners look to remove it after testing or looking for alternatives.

How do I completely remove Droppy and its leftover files?

Quit Droppy from the menu bar, drag Droppy.app from Applications to the Trash, and remove its data folders in ~/Library/Application Support/Droppy and ~/Library/Preferences/com.droppy*. Finally, remove it from System Settings → General → Login Items.

Why do users switch from Droppy to Notchy?

The most common reasons are cloud privacy (Droppy uploads files to Droppy Cloud, while Notchy uses 100% on-device storage and AirDrop), macOS compatibility (Droppy needs macOS 14+, Notchy supports macOS 13+), and extra tools like Face Unlock for Mac, AI usage tracking, and a free 7-day trial before paying.

Can I get a refund for Droppy?

Droppy purchases are handled through their payment provider (e.g. Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy). Check your receipt email for a support or refund link to request a refund according to their refund policy.

What is the best alternative to Droppy?

Notchy is the leading native macOS alternative. It includes a drag-and-drop file shelf, password-safe clipboard manager with OCR, window snapping, Face Unlock, AI usage tracking, and 50+ tools for $24.99 once after a 7-day free trial, running back to macOS 13 Ventura.
